Secretary
I was born in Sioux City, Iowa. My family moved to Janesville, Wisconsin when I was 7. My Dad was a Lutheran Pastor and he started a Home Mission Church in Janesville. (Faith Lutheran Church is still thriving there!) I graduated from Janesville High School and then went to St. Olaf College, where I majored in biology. I finished my teaching degree at the University of Wisconsin. My first job was teaching elementary science in Davenport, Iowa. I married and had 2 girls, so I stayed home with them for 7 years. I then began teaching sixth grade math in the Davenport School system. I taught in an inner- city school and thoroughly enjoyed working with a terrific staff and great kids. I divorced in 1990 but was fortunate to meet a wonderful man, Ray Albers, who I eventually married. My Dad, O.B. Anderson, was one of the original pastors on “Preacher’s Point” at Kabekona Lake. In fact, our cabin was the first one built (in 1932) and it was on the point. Nine other seminary classmates bought property along the south side of the lake. They wanted their kids to have a community of “PKs” (Preacher’s Kids) who had the same life experience. We were able to spend most summers at Kabekona and became very close. Many of us still have cabins on the lake. Unfortunately, our cabin burned down the summer of 1992 due to a chimney fire. (John Fallgren was one of the fire fighters!) Ray and I decided to rebuild. He was a skilled woodworker and put his heart and soul into the task. We moved from Davenport to our new cabin in 2007. We became active at Trinity and enjoyed getting to know many wonderful people. Ray passed away in 2017. I am blessed with 2 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren. I feel privileged to live on beautiful Kabekona Lake and be the part-time secretary at Trinity.

Church Council Secretary
I've been a member of Trinity since 2019, but Trinity and Kabekona Lake have always been a home to me. My dad, Kurt Wied, was the pastor at Trinity, Aardahl, and Malvik in the early '70s. The three-point parish was his first call after seminary. My parents kept their home on Kabekona Lake while serving in Wadena, MN, Schwabisch Hall, Germany, and Nisswa, MN, and moved in permanently after retirement. "The Cabin" is now homebase to a third generation, and we treasure gathering all the grandkids for Christmas and Independence Day. My husband, Jeremey, grew up in Benedict and works for a local contractor. We lived in the Fargo-Moorhead area before moving "home" to Laporte in 2019. I worked in restaurants for 15 years--from dive bars to fine dining--and then decided I wanted to sit down. I worked in legal document processing for 10 years, as a legal administrative assistant for 6 years, and now I spend my days with my mom. I have four kids: Jacob (27), Ryan (24), Abigail (19) and Garrett (17). I play cello in the Bemidji Symphony Orchestra and enjoy the outdoors. This year, I'm starting a new position as treasurer/bookkeeper here at Trinity, and I've been elected president of the church council for 2025.

I was born in Austin, MN, moved to Laporte when I was 10 years old with my parents. We joined Trinity Lutheran Church at that time and I have been a member ever since. I graduated from Laporte High School and then married my husband Pete in 1971. We have three children and four grandchildren. We started a dairy farm and continued with that for 26 years and then changed to beef cattle. I started working at Laporte School in 1988 and continued as a Special Ed para and librarian for 33 years. I am the custodian here at Trinity, this is my 37th year.

Web Coordinator Volunteer
As a recent transplant from St Cloud to Laporte I found Trinity Lutheran Church so welcoming!  I am sharing my love of Laporte with my husband James of 45 years and our Dachshund Eddie.  In our spare time if we find any we love to fish, bike, travel and do art and be with our family of 3 children, their spouses and my 5 grandchildren.
I am a professional artist by trade and am active in teaching watercolor classes at surrounding art galleries.  I love Laporte and the people who make up Trinity Lutheran Church here I have found friends and a community to retire in.
